Funny how things develop. Talking in Facebook with Rhiis Lopez of Ana Kefr and suddenly it turned into a “Hey Rob, check these guys out”. I’ll get to the other band in another post but first up we have Soul Skard out of the Jackson, Ms area. And they are a mixture of hard rock and heavy metal with a hint of southern rock based off the track ‘Unborn’ you can hear by heading over to the official page. Soul Skard is an original hard rock / heavy metal band from the Jackson, MS metro area that’s all about kicking ass and taking names. Soul Skard is Stephen Iglinsky on lead vocals, Heath Allen on guitar, Richard Smith on guitar, Matt Phillips on bass, and Wes Sutterfield on drums. They began skarring the Jackson area in late 2009 and have been a hard rocking force since.

The Soul Skard sound comes from a mix of classic and modern hard rock and metal influences. Influences come from Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Motley Crue, Disturbed, Kiss, Motorhead, Cradle of Filth, In Flames, Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth, and Children of Bodom. This mixture of influences has created an explosive sound with a no holds barred attitude.
